Although I moved in an academic environment for most of my life, I am self-taught as an artist. My cityscapes mix color and soul with the aim of transporting the viewer both near and far. I create a geography that is familiar yet different, real yet transcendent, personal yet universal. I hope the trip is special because my path is biased by a love for my subjects.

As an oil painter, I am inspired by some of the most beautiful and exotic places in the world. My early work focuses on subjects I came to know while working, studying and living abroad in my heritage countries of Italy, Portugal, and Brazil. Recently, however, North American trips and themes dominate the landscape. My artistic inspiration comes from the “singing colors” of Henry Matisse, the “simplicity” of Georgia O’Keefe landscapes, and the “earthly paradise” of Thomas McKnight.

During my years in Madrid, I made many visits to the Prado Museum. I always enjoyed spending time looking at the Goya cartoons. The Royal Tapestry Factory of Madrid reproduced these works as beautiful tapestries for the royal palaces of Madrid and its surroundings.
From the beginning, my vision has included making high quality fine art prints at a reasonable price. I spent over a year searching for a printmaker capable of bringing the best result to you today. The fine art print does to the visual enjoyment of paintings what the digital recording has done to the acoustical enjoyment of music.
